It Is The Perfect Escape
Terra Monarca is perched on a hilltop overseeing the beautiful panoramic views of the Valle de Guadalupe vineyards. It is a setting made for tastings, and relaxation. The property is constantly being groomed and renovated to have our guests feel the pleasures that the valley offers.
The hosts, Bobby & Zeida, are instrumental in making sure the personality of the region is reflected our guests stay.
Oh, my beloved Botella! One of the first times we visited Valle de Guadalupe we decided to go grab something to eat around 8 PM…big mistake, restaurants in the area we stayed were closed or about to close. Our hosts suggested La Botella.
Right across the street from the wine museum (Museo del Vino) and up on the hill is Hacienda Guadalupe. I love the look and feel of this restaurant. Our recommendation is to get a table outside and take in the views of the Valle de Guadalupe while eating.
Malva is great, period! Just like everything else in the Valle de Guadalupe, it’s tucked away off the main highway. There is only one way to get in and the north east side of Route 3 (towards Valle de Guadalupe). Once you get to the driveway and find parking, you walk upstairs to a rustic […]
Right on the south west side of Route 3 heading toward Ensenada, is a family run restaurant that is more known for their breakfast menu. We have been here several times, ordered different meal and all have been good. In the summer, the inside will be hot, so we recommend, getting a table outside, if […]
Fat Cat is a breakfast restaurant that is a favorite for most tourists. Locals stay away from Fat Cat on weekends were waiting for a table and parking are a concern. The food is good and plenty. You will not leave Fat Cat hungry. The pancakes seem to be what Fat Cat is known for.
King & Queen Cantina
King & Queen is a really cool place and getting more and more popular to the point you need reservations. When they just opened, we would go almost every weekend, now it’s impossible. Good and creative food and a good vibe. King & Queen sits right by the Rondo Vineyard.
La Cocina de Dona Esthela
La Cocina de Dona Esthela is a landmark breakfast/lunch restaurant. Mostly you’re going to hear “you have to go”. Tour buses make stops here and the tourists all flock to this restaurant like they are about o be locked in a 2 month quarantine.
We haven’t had the opportunity to go to Bar Bura, but we did go to do a wine tasting. What a beautiful place, great service and good wine. We were delighted by how well organized they are with parking and how welcoming they were even when they were packed.
Rondo del Valle
Rondo has become one of our favorite wines in the region. The place exudes simplicity and peace. We stopped by while waiting for our reservation at King & Queen Cantina, and we were very pleasantly surprised! We enjoyed our tasting and loved the great wine and service.
If you are looking for a party atmosphere and good time where you can eat and drink, Casa Frida is your place. Casa Frida is a tourist destination and they cater to that audience big time. Food and Wine are on the higher price range, but the experience is worth it. Also, they have cocktails, […]
Casa Magoni is a modern Italian winery with a small and well-crafted wine selection. On weekends, it’s ideal to get here around lunch time, maybe after a couple stops in other wineries. Do a tasting, pick a bottle and go sit under the gorgeous oak tree, enjoy live music and even one of their cheese […]
Bodegas Santo Tomas
If you’re looking for good wine with great tradition and ambiance, this is your place. Santo Tomas happened to be our first winery ever in Valle de Guadalupe, the moment we stepped in, we realized: oh wow! Valle de Guadalupe is for real! We didn’t know what to expect and Santo Tomas totally raised the […]
Relieve is a hidden gem of a winery that we would pass by all the time and never knew of. When you approach Relieve, you are immediately amazed by how clean and beautiful the grounds are. The building is modern and beautiful.
Misiones de California Winery
We are often asked from our guests what wineries do you recommend in the area. It is like asking what is your favorite Beatles song. There is just so many to choose from its hard to pick a favorite. So you have to answer with your top 5 favorites and even that changes like the […]
Working late on the ranch on a Monday, we were looking for a restaurant that was open at 9pm. Doing a search on Yelp we came across this listing for an Argentine steakhouse in El Porvenir.
